Honestly, I don't have great memories from family photo days...

Sleeping with rollers in, sitting for what seemed like hours getting my hair done, crammed into an itchy, scratchy dress and uncomfortable leotards, always running late, and so much stress! Then arriving at the studio with two frustrated parents and having someone tell us all to "Smile!!" Complete misery. And you know, those stiff, forced photos were put up on the wall to collect dust, never to be looked at again.

The photos that I cherish? They are the ones taken by friends and family- the candid shots of kids playing, adults laughing and pets getting into trouble. The real moments, the ones that bring a smile to your face when you flip through the album. The Everyday moments.

When I began my journey as a photographer, I knew, right from the start, that I wanted to document the real and raw moments of every day. I knew that I didn’t want to set up fake scenarios and force fake smiles. I wanted my work to represent who my clients really are. I want the families that I photograph to see the beauty in the ordinary because that is life.

Your life. And all of these stages and phases are worth remembering. I can’t wait to photograph all the love, the laughter, the tears and even the tantrums, the tender moments, the playful ones and all the mundane, quiet in-between.

Your story, the raw, honest version. There is beauty in your chaos and your routines and I want to be the one to show you how beautiful your life is. The good. The bad. And sometimes the ugly.

My favourite place to grab lunch in Victoria is Fern Cafe!

#7

I don’t really like coffee, chocolate or wine. But I really love extra sweet soy London Fogs and tacos!

My favourite place to explore on Vancouver Island is pretty much anywhere with trees and water- nature is where it’s at.

#10

I really do not take downtime and rarely relax. But that’s mostly because I love what I do and because I have ADHD… Lol .
